I Would Describe Myself As

I'm a widower (one year now, after 56 years of marriage). I've let go of the past and know I am capable of being a devoted husband again to a new love. I'm retired and am financially secure, but enjoy operating a small mail order business that I’ve had for over 40 years. It is a bit like a hobby, filling my time nicely but having no time constraints on most of my desired activities.

I’ll soon provide some additional pictures for my profile. I have trouble acting my age. My friends and family tell me I don’t look my age. Gadzooks, are they all blind? However, I am a tad immature and old fashioned (my daughter says I'm a prude). I enjoy good theater (movies and plays), doing the morning crossword, having fresh fruit for breakfast (and I’m capable of fixing my own), conversations with people who have a point of view, planning the day with a woman who has outside interests, and ending the day with mutual sharing of what we both accomplished. I love to laugh and I have a positive outlook on life regardless of the bizarre conditions of our world. I enjoy travels to interesting places in my RV (a 5th wheel; I belong to an RV Club and am the Club's Secretary). Eating out is fun, be it a small café where locals gather, or upscale restaurants where the correct attire is expected...and what a great time to talk! I like 4-star movies (PG or G-rated…didn’t I mention that I’m prudish?) and live theater. I also enjoy quiet evenings at home and am good at cuddling.

I have a daughter who lives nearby. We are close, but don't depend on each other. I have several grandchildren (all girls). They don’t live close, don’t depend on me, but are just fun to take with me on RV trips where they romp and act like the teenagers they are (and they love me!).

I’m respectful of all women and treat them as I expect them to treat me (I’m a “Golden Rule” kind of guy), and you will discover that after just a few meetings with me. Let me know if I qualify for such a meeting

And by the way, I do know how to maintain a household. I keep it neat and do know how to clean, do the laundry, and, all that other stuff that women think men expect them to do (keep in mind that I had a good teacher for 56 years and "Learned the drill").
