I Would Describe Myself As

Trying to sound objective in describing oneself is more difficult than imagined, but here's a go. I am an A type personality, not reticient about meeing and speaking with strangers. Maybe that's dangerous!!! I'm a social animal - enjoy cooking & entertaining 6-8 friends, w/ lots of laughter & copious amounts of wine. Live theatre,the Calgary symphony, classical music, pops music, lots of golf ,(which is a great vacation) curling in winter, mountain hiking/strolling w/ my favorite people in summer, the ocean (especially sailing) are some of my favorite things. My favorite people are those with a great sense of humour, a sense of style, both in dress & manner,people who have a 'joy for life', readers good conversationalists, those who like travel, both to escape our cold winters, & to experience diferent cultures, hopefully more than 2star accomodations. Creature comforts are important. Physically, I'm 5'3" , slender build, work out regularly attempting to keep in some semblence of fitness. Being a softie for domestic animals, I enjoy my 25 lb. cat aptly named "Sir" What else would you call a 25 lb. cat?? Fundraising for the local Humane Society was to a large extent a most satisfying endeavour. My earliest career was in the medical field, followed by a second career in the oil/gas industry, which was most satisying. I'm a bridge & poker player, not as good as I would like to be, but lots of fun. Couldn't live without the daily newspaper, Time magazine, Macleans magazine, CNN, CBC radio and TV, good books mostly of the autobiography type, but am open on that one. Spectator wise, not too fond of football, like hockey, tennis and of course golf. Yes to movies, & TV.
Yes to all types of food. I'm considered creative, but not necessarily talented.. Why can't I be both? My idea of camping is a 4 star hotel with a chocolate on the pillow and a turned down bed. Not snobbish, just like my creature comforts. Prefer warm sun & sand over sleet & snow, since I no longer ski. Turn-offs are conversation hogs, bores, pretentious snobs, sloppiness, the usual with most people I suppose. Musical talent is limited to a few wee tunes on the harmonica, so very , very limited in musical talent. When rather young once had a guitar teacher who told me "I was wasting my money taking lessons" Actually that comment was most justified and probably saved me in the pocketbook. My 'bucket list' includes lots of travel, & hopefully golf vacations.
