I am a grew up in the Midwest, was educated on the East Coast and have here in San Francisco since the late 1960's - for year 'round living, you can't beat the weather in Northern California. I am retired from banking, financially comfortable and currently working on my first book, the story of the 1873 Modoc War in Northern California.
I exercise daily and am physically fit. I enjoy the arts and am a SF Symphony season ticketholder. I also enjoy traveling, good food and some spectator sports (baseball, football), although I am not a couch potato. I am from the "old school" when it comes to etiquette. I would like to find a woman who will be my best friend, first and foremost, and who is comfortable in jeans as well as formal wear. Also, a woman with a good sense of humor.

where a small band of Modocs in the Lava Beds at Tule Lake held off the United States army, 600 strong, for five months.
