When living alone, I do things in a way that works for me rather than accomodating current trends or technologies as long as it doesn't hurt others. A few examples are that I shave my head(!) and have done so for almost 25 years despite the ridicule I've received from friends and co-workers; I wear clothes that I enjoy and are comfortable for me whether or not they are in fashion (this, of course, changes with the setting, such as a wedding or other formal event;) I continue to use cassette tapes and a VCR and I only grudgingly use a computer and a cell phone because they became absolutely necessary for me. Of course, if I were to become involved in a romantic relationship, I would adapt all this to the new situation when called for. I may be an old fart--70--but I'm flexible.
