I Would Describe Myself As

I am ready to live again after losing my husband after 52 years of marriage.
My friends tell me that I look and act younger than my years and enjoy life more than anyone they know. I love to travel and have done extensive travel both here and abroad. I have the gift of music in my heart and a desire to love that special man who wants a hands on woman with velvet gloves to softly lead his heart. I am a loving and caring female who wants someone who likes quiet evenings at home or a nice dinner out.. Loves walking on the beach at sunset, part owner of a condo at Atlantic Beach, or taking a trip to the mountains to view leaves, eating apples and drinking apple cider. I love gardening, decorating, visiting antique shops, auctions, shopping, wine tasting and doing things on the spur of the moment. I am very social and have a lot of friends and know how to dress. I am fortunate that I have good health. I love animals but do not have any at the moment.
I would like to meet a man who is intelligent, independent and self-assured with a good sense of humor, who would like to share in the adventures that life has to offer; who would not necessarily share my interest and opinions, but who would at least be interested in them.
I have two wonderful children, boy and a girl. My daughter is married and has given me two wonderful granddaughters. My son lives in Greensboro and is not married and has no children and is of great help when I call on him for things that are beyond me.
I have worked most of my life and I found staying at home all the time was not for me so have taken a part time position with a home builder. I do volunteer at the Jamestown Library and am the treasurer of the Old Jamestown School Alumni Association.
I do have one really bad habit and that is smoking but am thinking seriously about quiting and the right man might encourage me.
I do enjoy a nightly glass of wine or a cocktail but in no way consider this a problem because I am very moderate and never have or will abuse the privilage.
For now I am looking for someone with the anticipation that we might find in each other the basis of a lasting friendship and perhaps more.

A quiet dinner either at home or in a nice restaurant with that someone special. Also, an evening with friends. Holidays with family and friends. Traveling, again with that special someone. Dancing, watching a romantic movie in front of a roaring fire. A weekend of shopping with girl friends on a weekend get a way. Reading a good book sitting on my deck and listening to the birds.
