I'd love to hike parts of the Appalachian Trail, or really anything mildly to moderately active would be nice-- canoeing, kayaking, etc. Week-end getaways to new places with great scenery would be nice too. I guess you can see that I'm looking to get outside my comfort zone here.

I teach chemistry at a small university. Though I am passionate about my work it's not my whole life. My hours are flexible and often change from one semester to another, leaving me time and energy for many other things. I plan on continuing to work for, hopefully, many more years.

Most recently I have completed a "Biggest Loser" program where I work. I have lost 31 pounds and 36 inches and found a new love of working out. I would hope to find enthusiasm and encouragement for this new found pleasure in my friends that results in their participation with me (at least occasionally). My goal here is to continue this program.
