I Would Describe Myself As

I am not needy, desperate or particular lonely and am happy with the life I have created for myself since my husband died over five years ago. Not in a hurry to change my situation unless there is someone out there whose life might be enhanced by me being in it, and my life improved because he is in mine. To my way of thinking being with nobody is better than being with the wrong body! All my working and volunteer life I have been in the 'people-care-industries', one being the funeral industry as a celebrant, grief group facilitator and funeral arranger. I have been retired for quite some years no (if YOU are retired, tell me what you are retired from - life? or which profession?) I walk every day, try and keep fit, eat healthily, involved in life - I believe I dress for the occasion, which means if I am going out for dinner, I make an effort to look nice. If I am feeding animals in the paddock, neat but serviceable clothing. I like to look after my appearance. My interests in the past have been public speaking, dancing (I still go to circle dancing) and volunteering. If I am to spend time with someone, I would hope that they too are dressed appropriately, can hold an interesting and articulate conversation and have some knowledge about 'who they are as a person'. By that, I mean, what are your dreams and goals, how do you feel about important things in your life, can you make good decisions? Qualities I look for and respect are calmness, thoughtfulness and while not religious, a spiritual quality of appreciation for life and nature. I value those who have had a good education and can talk to me perhaps about things I am not aware of (my late husband was a rocket engineer in his day - engineers have a special way of looking at the world in my opinion). So, if you fit this description, then by all means contact me. If you do not, that is no flaw in your character or person, you just would not be the sort of person whose life I could fit into.
