I grew up in Kansas City but have lived here since the mid 70s, so I consider myself a New Orleanian.
I have been a teacher for 44 years in the field of Special Education and Elementary Education. It is my passion. I have retired twice but I can't seem to make it stick.
I have been a widow for a year after caring for my husband through his long battle with Alzheimer's. I miss dinner conversations, movie dates, skiing vacations, dancing in the streets, and wine with a lovely meal at any of the fabulous local restaurants.
I am looking for that special someone who is comfortable in his own skin. He wants to treat his lady to the best of what he has to offer. He is sensitive, caring and intuitive about my emotional needs. He is a romantic, likes to hold hands or steal a kiss, and will share his bowl of popcorn as we watch a movie from the sofa or in a theater.
I love the rock and roll music of the 60s and 70s, (Doobie Brothers, Blood Sweat and Tears, Chicago, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Gordon Lightfoot, and yes, the Beatles) but also like some of today's young musicians.
I read a lot of education articles and papers, but also like to read beach novels. Yes, I have read all 8 volumes of the Outlander series and have watched the Starz series twice. I know, I know!
I am a movie trivia buff and will watch any genre except horror movies, but especially love WWII movies and murder mysteries, and biographies and westerns and a really good RomCom.
Surprise fact - I swam competitively for a Synchronized Swim Club for 10 years.
My friends would tell you I am intelligent, compassionate, loyal, and an observer of human behavior. I cherish my friends and am so thankful for their love, support and loyalty through the years. You could say that "These still waters run deep."
I exercise 4-5 times a week and walk my dog twice a day, so I consider myself to be active and working towards being fit. Always a work in progress.
I want to travel internationally but really love the beach. I am a water baby.
