I enjoy spending time with my family. I am a Christian lady, and expect to be treated with respect. I say what I mean and mean what I say. I guess that comes from my Southern up-bringing. I was born in Georgia and just moved here to Colorado Springs four months ago to be close to my youngest son and his family. I still have my Southern accent and don't expect I'll ever lose it. I prefer to date men that do not smoke or drink, not even "social" drinkers. I am an avid reader and also a writer. I’m writing a book that parallels my life, of course, all the names have been changed to protect the guilty. I might just finish it one day. I’m pretty laid back, and nothing much upsets me anymore. Things that once bothered me don’t seem that important anymore. I do not like arguing or shouting. I have a calm, peaceful personality (although I still get excited about certain things) and do not want any drama in my life. I have a great sense of humor. I believe in the “Golden Rule,” and live my life according to it. I think all people have redeeming qualities, you just have to look deeper with some folks. I am a huge animal lover. I have two cats that I found in the back yard of my house in Georgia. Their names are Willa and Scooters. They keep me sane! I like to cook, look for rocks, visit haunted places and historical sites, solve mysteries, and people watch. I enjoy traveling, but not alone. What is the point in seeing a beautiful sunset or sunrise if you don't have someone with which to share it?
